Automakers are shoving as many crossovers as possible into their lineups these days. The Nissan Rogue Sport is one of those cars. It is a rebadged Nissan Qashquai, but it always seems to be lagging behind...
Pros
- Improved Styling
The Rogue Sport arrived in the US just when the overseas Qashquai was getting an update. That update is finally here. It includes an updated V-Motion grille, sharper headlights, and newer bumpers.

- Abundant Storage Solutions
The overall trunk space is undercut by Hyundai and Chevy, but Nissan makes up for it with hidden nooks. A spilt wall can be flipped around to separate groceries from the items that never come out of the trunk.

- Safety Is Top Priority
The Rogue Sport has many active safety features, including automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, ProPilot assist, and more. Also, drivers must know that the Rogue Sport comes to a complete stop if hands are not on the steering wheel for a certain time frame.

Cons
- Outdated Interior
The Rogue Sport falls behind the Kicks, Sentra, Rogue, and Versa with the infotainment screen. This is not good because that keeps it behind Hyundai, Toyota, Ford, and Kia.

- Legroom Isn't Enough
The Rogue Sport has less legroom than the smaller Kicks. This sets it behind Toyota, and makes the standard Rogue a better choice.

- Not Engaging To Drive
The Rogue Sport looks fun, but its inline-four engine with a CVT spell boring. Also, accelerating is a problem.

Verdict
The 2020 Nissan Rogue Sport is a great car for those who don't need too much space. The innovative cargo solutions and abundance of active safety features are also big promotions. But, a lowly powertrain sets it back. Other options are the Kia Seltos, Ford Escape, Hyundai Kona, Toyota CH-R, Honda HR-V, and Infiniti QX50.
